Canadian Wilderness Fly-in Fishing and Hunting Trips

August 21

We just got done with a bad week of fishing. Seemed like everything was just following or not hitting at all. Pretty much the hottest water temp of the year always coincides with a drop in the fishing for a week or 2. Musky have been just following, but lots of them. I guided the last 2 days and the northern are starting to hit again, mostly trolling the rocky 20′ range with FatRaps or Shad Raps. Boated a 39″ and a 41″ yesterday so that was nice to see after a very slow week before. Trout are stacking up like crazy now off some points, not hitting great, but just needs something to trigger them and it will be crazy again. Walleye in the portage lakes have been much better also than last week so hopefully things are getting back to normal.

The awesome fall trout fishing is coming up so hopefully we’ll get some cool weather to get them started.
