Canadian Wilderness Fly-in Fishing and Hunting Trips

May Fishing report

We have had our first group in camp this week. Very hot weather and the fishing suffered a little bit. The Terry Holloway group was here and they still caught quite a few trout. George Olsen got a 36″ laker not too far from the dock and they had a few other big ones up to the boat. They always do well but this year it was a little brutal mid day with the temps. Now a cool front came thru and it’s around 60 degrees for a high. I love it. The week before we got some beautiful northern, several over 40″ and a lot between 35″ and 40″. Mostly hitting white plastic tails. They don’t want a big presentation due to the cold water temps. Several walleye have been caught by accident while trout fishing. Jake got a 27″ and Holloway group got a few keepers while trout fishing. Nobody has really went after them yet so I’m sure this next week things will change. Holloways got most their trout trolling small dips divers with orange spoons down about 25′. Hopefully the weather will cooperate a little better this coming week and we can get the trout jigging going.
