Canadian Wilderness Fly-in Fishing and Hunting Trips

June 8 2016 cool days and cold nights

weather up here has been very cool for this time of year. Nights have been in the 30s and 40s and the day’s low 60s. Nice weather but the water temp is taking awhile to warm up. Starting to dry out so the walks to the portage lakes are too bad anymore. Except to Bear Trap lake. Don’t bother, it’s too wet. I’m told the lines at the border aren’t too bad and traffic to Nestor Falls has been good. Go up into town for bait to Anglers pro shop instead of the first bait shop, Nestor falls bait and tackle. Cheaper and better bait. We’ve been seeing some wildlife, Eagles of course, but also a wolf, bull moose and some marten. We had our main freezer go out last week so we have a brand new one which is much better on our solar power than the 1964 one we had.

All in all the start of the season has been great, seeing all our old friends and the fishing has been excellent.
