Cold spring brings a late start

Cold spring brings a late start

It is getting to the end of April and normally we would be making final preparations  to head up to camp. This year however, everything is still very frozen. Temps have only been getting above freezing for a few hrs a day and freezing hard again at night. They got about 8″ of snow last week and more could be coming in the next few days. As a result, we will not be able to start our season when we would like to. With what is going to be a very late ice out and possible flooding when everything finally starts melting, we wont be able to get in until the end of May. Thank you to everyone who was able to reschedule. The good news is that last bit of May and June should have some great fishing. There are sure to be plenty of hungry fish to chomp on any lure you throw past their face. Not to mention the later spawns. Be ready to fish any moving water like the spots where streams and small rivers enter our lake. Don’t worry the winter that wont end has to some day soon. When it does we will be ready to make the most of it.
